Although all of our turf varieties perform very well in most areas Sir Grange stands alone, and has a 4 or 5 star rating in every area. Drought tolerant, loves the sun, loves the shade, silky soft leaf and self repairing. Sir Grange is a 5 star player in the Australian turf market.
Hand-selected, tried and tested
Sir Grange has been selected from over 10,000 different varieties of turf, with its amazing qualities and features making it stand out from the crowd. Available from Lawn Solutions Australia members like us here at Murray Turf, you can be confident that Sir Grange has been tried and tested, and once established, it stands up to whatever the Aussie climate can throw at it.

The History of Sir Grange (Zeon Zoyzia) Grass
Sir Grange was developed by one of the most extensive turf grass breeding programs in the world, and one of the world's leading turfgrass breeders, Mr David Douget from Blade Runner Farms (BRF) Texas, USA.
Sir Grange is sold across the USA and in Asia under the trademark of BRF Zoysia.
BRF Zoysia has been used on quite a few world-famous projects such as the Rio Olympics Golf Course, and BRF Zoysia turf can also be seen on Michael Jordon's Grove 23 golf course.
Sir Grange (BRF Zoysia) can be found in many high-end sites in Australia such as the Teven Valley Golf Course, Killara Golf Course, Indooroopilly Golf course and many more places.
High drought, sun and wear tolerance once established
Sir Grange is a hardy and tough turf. It suits full sun situations and has a high drought tolerance once established in 100-200mm of sand, which is an essential consideration for both residential and commercial lawns. The turf also has a high tolerance for foot traffic and wear such as pets and kids playing, with excellent self-repairing capabilities once the root zone is established to a depth of 200mm.
- Can handle full sun
- High drought tolerance
- High wear tolerance
- Self repairing
- Minimal damage when scalped
High shade tolerance
Does your garden have areas in shade? Not a problem for Sir Grange Zoysia. Unlike some of the other common grass varieties that require full sun to thrive, Sir Grange has a very high tolerance for shady situations after establishment, needing a very small amount of direct sunlight.
- High shade tolerance (needs only 3 hours of direct sunlight/day)
Low Allergenic
Sir Grange is a low allergenic grass type, and its soft fine leaf texture is ideal for children and pets.
Low maintenance and nutrient requirements
Less maintenance on your lawn means more time to enjoy your garden! Sir Grange does not need to be mown as much as other common grass varieties. Not only that, but it demands less nutrients than other grass types!
- Requires up to 50% less mowing than other common turf varieties
- Can be mowed at a wide range of heights
- Requires 75% less nitrogen than other common turf varieties and in many cases will need little to no fertiliser at all.
